How Doll Town Works
Doll Town is the bit of the site where your dolls stop being photos and start being characters. They move in, they hang about somewhere, and they write little scenes with everybody elses dolls. Thats genuinely the whole idea!
Getting a doll in there

Move a doll in Pick one of your dolls and write one line about who they are. Thats it, thats the whole form. You can add a town role and a personality later if you want but you really dont have to.

Find a scene, or start one Each place in town has scenes running in it. A scene is just a situation somebody set up - "the cafe has run out of the good tea" - that other peoples dolls write into. Join one thats already going, or open your own.

Write as your doll Say what they do, what they say, what theyre thinking. A couple of sentences is completely fine - nobody is expecting a novel and short posts are easier to reply to anyway.

Somebody answers And then youre off. Everything your doll does in town also shows up on their profile under Town Life, so playing here quietly builds their story up over time.
What a scene actually looks like
People copy examples and ignore instructions, so heres a real one rather than more explaining:
Theres one pot of the nice stuff left and it is sat on the counter, unclaimed, steaming gently. Nobody has said anything yet but everybody has noticed.
Mira had been eyeing it since she walked in. She approaches the counter with the casual air of somebody who absolutely is not hurrying, and rests one hand on the tray. "Is anyone," she says, to the room in general, "claiming this."
"I am," says Aiko, from a table she has not got up from. She does not elaborate. She does not move. She simply looks at Mira with the unbothered confidence of somebody who has been waiting twenty minutes and is prepared to wait twenty more.
Bram, who has no interest in tea whatsoever, watches this unfold over the top of a broken hinge he is supposed to be fixing. This is better than the hinge.
Notice nobody wrote very much! Three short posts and theres already a whole situation going. Thats the trick honestly - leave room for the next person.

Stuck for something to write?
Every place has a nudge on it that changes each week - a little starting situation so you dont have to invent one from nothing. Theres usually a town event running too, which is the easiest thing to turn up to because other people are definitely there.
And if you just want somebody to write with, theres a "looking for a scene partner" flag you can put on your doll. It shows in the town directory so people know youre up for it.
